March 2011

I know March isn't quite over, but with only a few days left and a busy week ahead I figured I better do this now.
This month has been a growing one, unemployment is not a fun thing in this current economy. I am having to fight in order to get my unemployment benefits -- seems to be a common thing lately. Thankfully through the teachings of Dave Ramsey, we have been ok financially. Not perfect by any means but stable. *Such a blessing!
Through all this, I've been able to watch Robert grow into a 2 year old. Such a scary thing - he runs all the time. Sometimes even the dogs are ready for some peace and quiet at the end of the day. :) We've been watching a lot of Sprout TV, which Robert loves. I've had to set a time limit to it & thankfully the weather has been nice enough we can get outside and play or even go to the park.
During this time, I have been reading from the book of Job. Very interesting reading this while unemployed. Strangely enough, I could see what was happening through the eyes of Job and not feel completely underwater. It made sense too with another book I was reading, thanks to iBooks, entitled "Little Victories: Unemployment Success Stories." The author is an unemployment supervisor with the state of New Jersey and he talks about the inner struggles that an unemployed person find themselves in and how to overcome the mental anguish and emotions that come with unemployment. It was interesting, if you will, that after reading this book I started receiving calls for interviews. Providence? I think so.
Luckily, this month I've also been able to have a handful of interviews, which has lead to a job! Starting Monday, Robert will be attending the 2 year old classroom at Kids R Kids and I will be teaching the older 3s at Kids R Kids. They are starting a new unit as well about animals starting with zoo animals. How fun!!!
There are still some strings left to tie up from the month & hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later.
And April is already starting of promising with a new job, family coming to visit, the races, my birthday, and Easter.

  1. I'm glad you found a new job! I'm still hoping the state works out the budget issues...I'm one of the ones currently with a letter of intent to not renew. :(
